Request for Proposal (RFP) for Local NGO Collaboration  

Sarathi – Improving Financial Health’, is a jointly funded project by MetLife Foundation and Swisscontact. Sarathi enables a network of private and public stakeholders to facilitate access to existing and customised, preferably digital, financial health solutions for low-income industrial workers, especially ready-made garments (RMG) workers. Additionally, Sarathi focuses on skills development and women entrepreneurship to encourage financial stability.

Sarathi intends to partner with local NGOs who are actively operating in RMG clusters of Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj, and Chattogram to work in the following areas:

  • Savings: Facilitate access to suitable savings products to encourage savings behaviour;
  • Skills development: Upskill RMG workers, especially women, to create equitable access to career progression;
  • Women entrepreneurship: Identify opportunity and facilitate training for aspiring women entrepreneurs in the RMG community.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Approval from Bangladesh Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA), if interested in savings intervention;   
  • Existing resources and operations in any of the Sarathi locations;
  • At least 5 years of work experience in savings, upskilling, and women entrepreneurship, preferably in the RMG sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-design products and services suitable for beneficiaries;
  • Design and act as implementing partner for intervention plan(s) aligning the project objectives;
  • Conduct a baseline and endline study, if necessary;
  • Collect data and develop reports, as per the project requirement.
