Plan International Bangladesh together with Mott MacDonald’s -Consortium Lead, SERAC-Bangladesh, ICDDR,B going to implement an USAID funded project “Adolescent Health Activity-AHA”. The objective of the project to reduce early marriage and early child bearing among very early adolescents (VYA) living in four division namely Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur and Chattagram. 

The role and Scope:

The project will also work to reduce child marriage by creating awareness among VYAs, engaging Volunteer community facilitator, community stakeholders, relevant government departments etc. The five-year project will be implemented from February 2024 to December 2029 in collaboration with Mott MacDonald, SERAC-Bangladesh, and ICDDR,B. The LEAD is responsible for to lead the implementation of this project and provide both technical and managerial support to the project team in the field. The incumbent needs to effectively manage and guide the project in collaboration with Divisional offices, consortium partners, two to three ministries and other stakeholders at National, Divisional and district levels. The LEAD will lead, organize and ensure quality as agreed with donor to ensure synchronized project implementation. S/he will oversee all project management, administration, procurement, financial and human resource management according to Plan International and donor rules and regulations.

S/he will responsible for collecting information, reviewing documents, field visits, preparing drafts, consultation with other project teams etc. for gathering information to use in influencing at higher level within relevant identified stakeholders. Conduct regular field visits to monitor project(s) progress, provide quality feedback, prepare and share field visit reports. Develop financial reports as required for organization in coordination with the Project team, M&E, Finance, HR and admin teams to share with the donor.

What we’re looking for

  • Masters’ degree with 10 years’ experience of managing grants project, preferably on rights and protection of children, girls and young people with special focus on child and early marriage.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement gender transformative programs especially using gender mainstreaming tools across project cycles. Thorough understanding on gender and social norms, unequal gender power relation and tackling root causes of inequality to ensure girls rights and girls empowerment.
  • Experience in managing large project budgets, proven influencing capacity with positive outcome.
  • Experience in developing project planning, implementation guidelines; complex decision making and leading a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proven experience of working in partnership with national & local NGOs and government bodies both at national and local level.
  • Experience in representation and negotiation with governments and donors
  • Strong representation, relationship building, negotiation & influencing skills at high level stakeholders including state & non-state actors
  • Ability to devise strategies, take actions and propose solutions to influence decision-making at the local and national level to create positive change for people and their environment specific to child marriage
  • Ability to prioritize and manage complex and varied workload, often to tight deadlines in a dynamic, fragile and multi-cultural setting
  • Strong diplomatic, interpersonal and trouble shooting skills including risk management and compliance understanding particularly USAID.
  • Results driven but also flexible in adapting response to situations as they evolve.

Monthly consolidated salary range for this role is 203,712 BDT – 230,000 BDT (may vary based on experience) along with other benefits i.e. Life Insurance, Hospitalization Insurance coverage along with Out Patient Treatment Benefit.
