Director, Administration 

Objectives: To ensure a friendly modern campus for all stakeholders. Supervise vital functions such as Facilities, Campus Security and Operations and Maintenance of the University. Ensuring a world class campus for the students, faculty members, and staff. Assist the Vice Chancellor by proposing strategic plan for an efficient and environment-friendly campus.

As Director, Administration you will be required to:

  • Administer, supervise, control, and monitor the activities of Officers and Staff of the Department of Facilities and Protocol, Operations and Maintenance, and Security.
  • Ensure logistic support for holding meetings of Board of Trustees, Syndicate, Academic Council and arrange venue/refreshments/food etc. for convocation and other big events of the university.
  • Ensure and monitor the arrangement of hygienic/pure drinking water, hygienic food quality with clean canteen facilities, clean lavatories for students/staff of the university.
  • Support all schools/departments in holding academic activities along with seminars, symposiums, conferences, meetings, etc. by providing manpower and logistic service as required.
  • Supervise and optimize the best use of transportation fleet of the University.
  • Rent houses/apartments and arrange accommodation for international students, expatriate staff/faculty and provide logistics support as required.
  • Maintain close liaison with the local police station and other law enforcement agencies to establish and preserve a congenial academic environment at the university.
  • Supervise and follow up all legal matters including IUB’s land and properties.
  • Plan, supervise and review time to time appropriate development of security personnel and access control equipment and recommend the top management appropriate measures and policies as required.
  • Organize fire drills and evacuation exercises for all at regular intervals.
  • Supervise the IUB Medical Center. 
  • Supervise the Counseling Office (Mental Health support) office for all. 
  • Plan, organize, and manage a variety of activities and projects related to the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment.
  • Effectively allocate resources to various projects including funds, staff, and supplies.
  • Manage construction contracts for new facilities and major alterations and/or modernization of existing facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the work is performed in accordance with specifications, timelines, and budget.
  • Liaise with various government, semi-government, autonomous and municipal bodies for obtaining necessary clearance/permission for the approval and implementation of the projects.
  • Develop and monitor departmental budget, expenditures allocations, fund balances, and related financial data for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits, and expenditures are authorized in accordance with IUB policies.
  • Respond to emergencies for the purpose of determining and implementing appropriate actions required to resolve situations.
  • Evaluate tenders submitted by the parties/bidders and put up for acceptance of the same to the higher authority.
  • Report, inform and liaise with the senior management to keep them always updated with required information.
  • Assist the Proctorial Body and the Executive Office in maintaining on-campus discipline.  
  • Carry out any other activities as assigned by the Senior Management/Vice Chancellor.

Required Qualification: 

  • Graduate (Masters) degree or equivalent from a reputed university. 
  • Only degree obtained with second class and above will be considered.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in senior administrative/management position at any reputed organization. Prior experience of working in an academic institution is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, social skill and network are expected.
  • Ready to accept work beyond office hours and if needed on holidays. 
  • Age should not be over 55 years at the time of application

IUB offers competitive remuneration package. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
