We are looking for skilled and ambitious professionals for a new and innovative education intervention under our existing project called PROOFS - Profitable Opportunities for Food Security. The overall project works with existing CBOs and private sector actors to ensure sustainable food and nutrition security. Following a unique approach, the education intervention will promote innovative life skills and vocational education and training (VET) programmes in support of the reduction of child labour and the enhancement of Food and Nutrition Security (FNS), thereby complimenting the overall PROOFS objective. The project is being implemented by international consortium partners ICCO Cooperation, BoP Innovation Center and iDE, in close cooperation with local partners.

ICCO Cooperation, the consortium lead partner, has extensive experience in vocational education training initiatives in Africa, Central Asia and South- and South East Asia. One of the current successful interventions is the Learn4Work initiative in Africa. BoPInc works with international companies to accelerate adoption of inclusive innovations to benefit people in low-income groups and societies. International Development Enterprises (iDE) is an international NGO that facilitates the provision of technologies, services, and capacity building to small rural farmers, while actively fostering their participation in agricultural markets, to increase their incomes and capabilities. Position: Senior VET Capacity Building Officer

No. of vacancies: 2 (Two) 

Job Summary: The Senior VET Capacity Building Officer is responsible forinvolvement of and adequate capacity building support for staff of VET training Centres/providers of apprenticeships. He/she reports to the Field team leader.

Key Job Descriptions/Responsibilities:

  • Support team of regional CB officers in involving of  VET training providers in the project and in assessment of the capacity development needs of VET centre faculty members/teaching stafffor effective uptake of new market-driven vocational curriculum solutions
  • Provide feedback from the field to the Capacity Building Expert and contributeto the development of plans to involve VET providersand trainteaching staff and providers of apprenticeships
  • Assess competencies of VET providers and contribute to the competency development plans at management level, in cooperation with Sr. team members in Business Management and Private Sector Engagement.
  • Work closely with district level CB officers to implement TOT programs to ensure VET faculty members are equipped to apply interactive teaching style and use innovative tools and technologies
  • Set clear objectives and indicators for HR and training activities in collaboration with the senior Capacity Building Expert, field managers and VET centre management personnel
  • Continuously monitor and supervise training activities, and involve and guide District  CB officers in analysis and taking appropriate action as needed to ensure continued progress
  • Conduct periodic assessment of training effectiveness and provide feedback to upper management for action, if and when appropriate.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to PROOFS project management, donor and other applicable time frames and formats.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others
  • Work cross-functionally with other work groups to ensure optimal project impact is derived

Educational requirement: Masters/MBA in Education Management/Human Resource Management or other relevant discipline

Experience requirement:

  • Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in development of Vocational Education in the areas of designing demand driven VET, cooperation with private sector andactive learning strategies for skills development,partly in an INGO environment.
  • Should have excellent understanding of VET system, stakeholders and challenges at the rural level and of opportunities and constraints for accommodating rural youth.
  • Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in design and implementation of training plans in active learning/competency based approach
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to guide field staff to achieve results. Must understand the technical, social, and other constraints in the development field and be able to create solutions.
  • Strong in essential computer software/packages like MS Word, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint.

Salary & benefits:
Salary maximum BDT 63,000 depending on relevant experience, and all other benefits will be applicable as per ICCO HR manual
