Job Context

Assistant Manager - Compliance is accountable for identifying, developing, and implementing long-term social compliance initiatives and objectives, in alignment with the company’s vision. The incumbent is also responsible for educating team and affiliations of ZXY on the importance and effectiveness of social compliance activities and ensuring adherence to all respective laws and industry regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain 100% compliant and safe factory base as per ZXY Select audit criteria and ZXY Code of conduct (COC).
  • Conduct regular audits of suppliers and factories to ensure compliance with social standards, labor laws, and ethical practices
  • Guide and upgrade factories and compliance team on new trends and practices of local and international bodies.
  • Work on improving existing compliance programs by identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions.
  • Timely monitor audit criteria to ensure customers’ growing need on social compliance and safety.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and share guidelines for factory development.
  • Check and verify all documents related to Policy & Procedure, SOPs, certificates, licenses, and records and conduct on-site verification where required.
  • Study and evaluate customers’ manuals, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Code of conduct (COC)
  • Comprehend and implement customer requirements to factories and monitor accordingly.
  • Build commitment and trust with external entities to sustain efficiency and trigger new relationships.
  • Provide support to suppliers/factories regarding BSCI, SEDEX, WRAP, ISO 45001, C-TPAT, SLCP, Better Work assessment, RSC issues and required guidance based on ZXY Code of Conducts for vendors where necessary.
  • Continuously monitor industry and customer/brand trends, Government and International regulations and work with industry and government / BGMEA working groups, to comprehend Human Rights due diligence, Grievance Mechanism, Worker well-being, sustainable solutions and implement the knowledge, practices, and processes where necessary.
  • Prepare phase-wise development plans for respective customers/suppliers.
  • Communicate and follow up on processes, developments, and scalable solutions, to streamline supply chain traceability and transparency.

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in social compliance, ethical sourcing, or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, human rights standards, workplace health and safety and environmental regulations
  • Experience with auditing and risk assessment in supply chain management.
  • Certification in Social Compliance or Ethical Sourcing (e.g., SA8000, WRAP) will be an added advantage

  • Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English
  • IT proficiency - advanced level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlines
