Sr. Quality Technician/ Quality Technician - Knit

Job Context

The incumbent will be responsible for performing quality control checks on products during the production cycle to ensure items meet safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sew any operation / machine and be able to train and demonstrate how to sew and control quality levels during bulk production
  • Communicate customer quality levels to production and quality teams and convince factory management to maintain in bulk production
  • Attend in risk assessments and forecast issues for bulk production and suggest solutions
  • Understand and follow the quality SOP in each step of the process
  • Ensure quality of products manufactured from fit & PP sample stage to final inspection and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Co-ordinate with QAM and QA regarding quality, fit and measurements and ensure smooth flow of production
  • Check and reconfirm accuracy of samples prior to dispatch to office / customer tech to ensure first time approval
  • Shrinkage / Pattern Grouping, adjustments and decision to the Productions
  • Overlook all aspect of washing required & knowledge about basic fabric inspection by the customer
  • Handling cutting, print, embroidery, production, finishing issues and provide solutions and options to ease production
  • Obtain approval for cost effective and feasible methods and options
  • Deal with IQA/ Quality auditors and technicians for necessary for quality, measurement and technical related issues and ensure to delivery customer required levels
  • Conduct pre-finals and packaging audits to ensure 100% final inspections pass rate

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Graduation, Degree in textile, relevant education on TQM, quality assurance, pattern making
  • Certified technician, fit tech for reputed brand for circular knit will get preference
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in reputed factory or sourcing office technical, quality or production teams
  • Hands-own experience on formal standup shirt pressing and folding
  • Experience using automated shirt folding tables
  • The applicants should have experience in the following areas: knit and woven (denim and non-denim pants/jackets) Pattern making for knit, woven, Quality Control/Audit, basic on printing, embroidery and washing
  • The applicants should have experience in the following categories men’s, ladies, children and kids wear product safety and process controls 

Technical Job Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge on knit fabric finishes, trouble shooting on color and shrinkage controls
  • Excellent knowledge on pattern corrections, amendments and handling printing process
  • Extensive knowledge on circle knit sewing techniques, trouble shooting, various constructions methods to improve quality and productivity
  • Knowledge and skilled with marker and cutting techniques on sensitive and stripe, check and plaids fabrics
  • Should have thorough knowledge about garment measurement & patterns
  • Must have skills in examining and establishing proper quality operations and procedures

  • IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Specially, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
  • Ability to multi task and remain organized, meet deadlines
