Denim Designer

Our leading European organization is recruiting for an exciting position at our HQ, in the heart of Dhaka. Job Context

The Denim Designer will have an understanding of and enthusiasm for the ZXY’s target customers, product and aesthetic. He/she will translate trends into commercially successful products.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing the design process from conception through to final styling for assigned product category
• Responsible for product design process to include market research, conceptual presentations, design and guidance through fabric, print, spec and fit processes
• Responsible for researching markets in order to identify new trends, fabrics, techniques, etc.
• Develop product, and marketing concepts for emerging categories or items
• Develop fabrics, wash finishes, wash libraries, special trims and styling details
• Ensure product is being designed with in relevant cost parameters
• Recommends product/key items that demonstrate a clear design point of view
• Provides insight regarding style and fit of product during presentation
• Ensures that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy
• Works with garment technical and sampling team to ensure design integrity, and that design packages are complete and accurate.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

• Graduate in Fashion Design & Technology or a related field
• 4 - 6 years’ experience in as a denim designer, ideally with European experience
• Strong technical knowledge across design, fabric and development of denim

• Strong design and conceptual skills
• Ability to hand sketch
• Ability to follow the aesthetics of leading US, European, UK denim brands
• Strong sense of style and color
• Thorough knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color use, sewing techniques, graphics and trim
• Understanding of merchandising as it relates to sales and store environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships work as a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English
• Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
• Ability to multi task and remain organized, meet deadlines
• Superior attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection
• Should be well-presented, smart and energetic
• Strong presentation and delivery skills
• Strong computer knowledge including Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office
