ABOUT THE POSITION
The Field Officer will work under the guidance of the Aquaculture Specialist. He/she will be engaged in Implementing Partner’s field activity supervision and guiding them as per agreement with Feed the Future Bangladesh Aquaculture and Nutrition Activity project of WorldFish.
This position is mainly responsible to support implementation of field activities and monitoring of the Aquaculture Activity partner organizations for smooth implementation of the Aquaculture Activity, funded by USAID. The key responsibilities of this position include to support the implementing partners of specified program activities consistent with the plan and its objectives, anticipates problems, formulates field level solutions, and actively lead resolution, establishes and maintains productive working relationships with all stakeholders in the field. In close cooperation with the Partner’s POC, the Field Officer will work closely with partner's implementation staff and beneficiaries.
The Successful Candidate will:
- Assist Aquaculture Specialist to implement the assigned program activities.
- Assist to monitor the project progress through regular field visit and ensure quality of data and reporting
- Maintain relationship with Implementing partners and stakeholders to strengthen network activities.
- Assist the partner organizations in effective implementation of the project activities.
- Observe farmer group training organized by the implementing partner staff
- Observe the extension inputs support by the implementing partners for the project beneficiaries.
- Aware the partners regarding the compliance aligned with USAID and WorldFish requirements.
- Support the implementing partner’s staff to perform their jobs effectively.
- Observe trainings provided by the partners.
- Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly report and maintain activity documentation as required.
- Writes success stories and case studies.
- Any other relevant activities and tasks as required by the project.
Requirements
This job is open to Bangladesh Nationals with the following skills and qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in any relevant subject from a reputed university preferably in aquaculture/ fisheries.
- Inhabitant from Bandarban district will get priority.
- 2-3 years of experience in relevant field.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and team work skills.
- Multi tasks and flexible to work related to project management
- Ability to write quality drafts in English and Bangla for reports, letters, and other official documents.
- Excellent computer skills and ICT usage.
- Familiarity with the stakeholders in aquaculture/agriculture sector.

- Able and willing to drive motorcycle with having valid driving license
Desired Skills and Qualification
- Preference will be given to those with proven experience in implementing and organizing farmer/community level different programs/activities/events, working experience with aquaculture related project and market system approach.
Salary and Benefits
This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position with an annual salary ranging between BDT30,000/- to BDT35,000/- per month
Recruitment Process
This position will be based in Lama/Alikadam Upazila, Bandorban, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in March 2022 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence in April 2022 for an initial six (6) months short-term contract, with the possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.
