Portfolio Assistant (01 Position)

This position takes overall responsibility to support to the Country Director, including but not limited to, travel arrangements, managing diary, uploading and updating files on One Corporate System (OCS) and for organising meetings and special projects within the Bangladesh office. S/he will closely work across the whole WorldFish teams to achieve the aims of organizational communication and documentation issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Country Director to set priorities, deadlines, and respond to donor requirements and other organizational matters.
  • Responsible for making internal and external appointments for the Country Director and other senior staff members at the country office.
  • Produce and process all Memorandum of Association (MOA), Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Letter of Agreement (LOA) for all project partner contracts.
  • Manage Country Director's day-to-day communication that may include drafting of correspondence, incoming and outgoing mail/faxes, travel claims for action/ follow up.
  • Assist and coordinate the management of agreements for Partners, PNGO’s and other organizations.
  • Identify new project opportunities/funding and inform the management team.
  • Assist in dissemination and tracking of information/ documents/ publications to and from HQ and between internal staff, donors, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and publishing of portfolio reports [i.e. Annual Reports, Year Planner, Senior Management Team (SMT), and MTP.


This job is open to Bangladesh Nationals with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelors or Masters in English, Communication, Business Studies or other related fields.
  • At least 3 years of progressively responsible work experience in the area of administrative program support, project management, and sub- grant management etc. in any organization.
  • Experience in administrative operations, policies and reporting for international NGOs and donors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge on project management processes.
  • Good understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Operations.
  • Experience in managing large numbers of contracts/ agreements and hands on experience in processing partner agreements in a timely manner.
  • Advanced level skills on Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, power point etc.).
  • Experience working in a multicultural/international environment.
  • Excellent in English and Bengali.

Desired Skills

  • Ability to produce high quality work within limited time schedules and minimum supervision.

Salary and Benefits
This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position with annual salary ranging between BDT 590,733 to BDT 608,455 per annum. WorldFish's NRS shall receive comprehensive benefits including (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, and pension/ provident fund contribution.

Eligibility, Location and Duration
This position will be based at WorldFish’s Country Office in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Interviews are expected to be held in August 2019 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview. The successful candidate should be available to commence by September 2019 for an initial three (3) years fixed term contract, with possibility of contract renewal depending on performance and funding availability.
