Head of Finance –External Recruitment (1 Position).
in Dhaka, Bangladesh

The position is to be filled by Dec 2023/ Jan 2024 with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. The employment location will be Dhaka, Bangladesh. The position is paid according to Salary Group 8. As Head of Finance, you are responsible for managing all financial and administrative processes in Welthungerhilfe's Bangladesh’s projects. You will implement financial management standards efficiently and promptly, thereby making a significant contribution towards the success of the programme. As part of the Senior Management Team, you will provide strategic and leadership input to the programme and at a few times deputize the Country Director, as required. You will be matrix managed by the Regional Finance Manager, based in Germany.

Your responsibilities

• Ensuring that all financial administrative processes in the Country Office are auditable and run efficiently through appropriate organisational measures and carrying out financial administrative controls
• Line management of, and final responsibility for the finance team
• Supporting the Country Director perform his/her supervisory duties within the framework of programme administration Instructing and supporting projects and project partner organisations (PPO) in matters relating to financial management, so that they fulfil their contractual obligations towards Welthungerhilfe and co-financiers
• Managing internal and external audits of projects and partner organizations Controlling and supervising liquidity planning of the projects and internal fund requests
• Evaluating financial and administrative requirements of new donors Coordinating the training of national and expatriate staff and PPO's in the field of project administration 
• Providing qualified advice for the projects in administrative matters

Your profile

• A university master's degree in Finance or equivalent experience that matches the position
• More than 5 years of international working experience in managing finance processes in a leadership role, particularly in international organizations
• Working experience in Bangladesh
• Experience working with German, EU, USAID and UN donor organizations.
• Proven skills in finance reporting, audit preparations, budgeting, management, and organizational skills are required.
• Knowledge of working under a humanitarian context.
• Ability to work under time pressure and high workload.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of the Bangla language
• Experience working with the Government of Bangladesh regulatory agencies such as NGO-AB, NBR, etc.
