Position: Senior Officer - Partnerships & Communication

CONTEXT: Water & Life Bangladesh (W&L Bangladesh) is a non-profit organization, established by the French NGO Eau & Vie. The NGO is active in Bangladesh with the goal of improving the living condition of Urban Slum dwellers by implementing water network, firefighting, hygiene promotion, sanitation and solid waste management activities.

W&L Bangladesh works in close association with its social business company Shobar Jonno Pani (SJP), also established by Eau & Vie, which is specialized in safe water supply for lower income community who do not have access to water in Bangladesh, aiming at creating quality-controlled piped and metered water supply networks, which are financially viable, socially responsible and adapted to the needs of urban low-income community.

Both W&L Bangladesh and SJP engaged in partnerships with the local communities, govt. authorities, water operator and other development stakeholders through two branches one in Dhaka and the other one in Chattogram.

TYPE: Permanent

LOCATION: Based in Banani, Dhaka with visits in Chattogram and around Dhaka.

Reporting to:  Partnerships & Communication Manager

COORDINATION WITH: Country Director, Finance Manager, Technical Advisor and Partnership & Communication department in the HQ-France and all SJP and W&L teams in branches and at the Head Office.

Job summary:

Main Duties: 
Development and Implementation of the fundraising, partnership and communication strategies for the Bangladesh program under the supervision of the Partnership & Communication Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the elaboration of the strategy of fundraising
  • Participate in the management and development of local financial partnerships (prospection and proposal writing on his/her portfolio and elaboration of partnership communication tools according to the needs)
  • Ensure the follow-up of local partnerships (admin work, organisation of field visits and reports writing)
  • Participate in the elaboration of the global and local communication strategy (new branding, social medias strategy, etc)
  • Handle the communication activities (social medias, newsletters, annual report)
  • Participate in the organisation of events including logistic
  • Represent the organisation on the occasion of external events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Master degree in Journalism & Mass Communication or Economics or Development Studies or Business Administration (educational qualification can be relaxed for exceptional candidates and candidates with relevant experience).

Experiences:
Minimum 4 years of professional experience out of which:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in partnership, fundraising and communication scope
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in an international NGO
  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment is required 

Skills:

  • Excellent level of English Language skill – Job in English  
  • Having interest in writing should be an advantage
  • Good knowledge in project management cycle (tools and process)
  • Good representative and persuasive capacities with excellent human relationship skills
  • Team player with a sharp sense of communication
  • Responsiveness and proactivity
  • IT skills: office suite (Word, Excel and PPT) but also ability to easily learn new software (AirTable, Canva, Piktochart...).
  • Good graphic skills are an advantage

Salary Range: BDT 40,000 to 45,000 for (depends on candidate’s skills and work experience)
