WaterAid Bangladesh is an international not-for-profit organization, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation and is looking for a committed, passionate and self-driven individual for the position of ‘Finance and Administration Officer’ for one of its project operating in Rangpur, Bangladesh.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in the zonal team with necessary guidance from the finance team at Dhaka office
  • Monitor the financial and management accounting activities of WaterAid partner organisations in the zone
  • Maintain books of accounts of the project and update on a regular basis
  • Provide support for all procurement of the zonal office and maintain relevant inventory system for the project. This includes, updating the asset database and ensure proper and adequate insurance coverage of the assets
  • Prepare reports for donor, WaterAid country office and Government as per requirement
  • Ensure compliances of donor, WaterAid and Government as well as internal control system
  • Prepare and update the financial guidelines for partner NGOs
  • Pay regular visit to the partner organizations for financial monitoring and support visit and produce report on the visit with recommendations
  • Provide training to the finance and non-finance staff as necessary
  • Oversee the Micro Finance for WASH program of the partner NGO
  • Support to prepare budget of zonal office as well as partner organization
  • Assist in the reviewing, monitoring and reporting of the risk management functions of WaterAid Bangladesh country office
  • Assist in identifying external auditors, review and prepare an audit action plan with partners & feedback to Finance team at Country office for Follow-up implementation of plans
  • Day to day administrative management of the office which includes travel, logistics, security, premises, assets management etc.

Requirements:

  • Masters in Finance/Accounting/any other relevant discipline
  • At least 05 (five) years experiences where 02 (two) years experiences in partner monitoring role
  • Experience of working in National or International NGO is preferred
  • Strong accounting knowledge and analytical/problem solving/report preparation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coach both finance and non-finance people on financial topics including budgeting & internal controls
  • Knowledge on advanced excel and SUN accounting software would be added advantage
  • Organised and should have problem- solving mindset
  • Courage for multi-tasking ability to produce results individually or through teamwork within tight deadlines
  • Must be a team player with mutual trust and demonstrates gender and cultural awareness
  • Ready to go for extensive field visit 
Reportable to : Zonal Coordinator
Workstation : Zonal Office, Rangpur, Bangladesh
Contract Tenure : Upto 31 March 2021- this is a project based job, the contract may be extended subject to the extension of the project and necessity of the position.
Working hours : Full time (05 days a week with minimum 37.5 hours per week)
