Knowledge Management and Communication Volunteer
Responsible to: Project Manager
Placement Duration 3 months ending 31st March 2024 Country: Bangladesh
No. of Volunteers 01 Work location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Level 2: This post will have direct access or contact with children either or will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of those with direct access to children. A criminal background check will be obtained for post holder at this level prior to their start date.

Responsibilities

  • Support Programme team to compile/collate reports and data for donor and VSO global reporting.
  • Support in the collection of qualitative and quantitative data from the projects and programme case studies.
  • Support the programme team in communication materials development.
  • Support in the implementation of effective knowledge management within the VSO.
  • Facilitate and support seamless communication channels to ensure the efficient flow of information among internal teams and external stakeholders by understanding their information needs and preferences.
  • Support in the implementation of best practices for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and documentation to enhance organizational learning.
  • Collaborate with global teams to identify knowledge gaps and support in the implementation of solutions for knowledge transfer.
  • Support in generating regular reports and analysis to demonstrate the impact of knowledge initiatives on organizational performance.
  • Support in ensuring the accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of content through regular reviews and updates.

Skills Required

  • Relevant degree in social science/development studies or related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in communication materials development
  • User experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis using relevant analysis software packages.
  • Comparative analysis, report-writing, and presentation skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English and local languages.
  • Good communication skills: the ability to work in a team.
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas and willingness to work flexibly as required.
  • Respect and commitment to volunteering for development as VSO’s core development methodology.

Collaboration: The appointed individual will collaborate with and support the projects managers, project staff and the Knowledge management team.
