Civil Engineer (Quantity Survey & Quality Control)

Job Description / Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive management of quantity surveying and quality control aspects across various real estate development projects. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Quantity Surveying:

  • Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for all civil, structural, and finishing works, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications and relevant building codes.
  • Conduct thorough cost estimations, budget preparation, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze tender documents, evaluate contractor proposals, and assist in contract negotiations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all quantity surveying activities, including drawings, specifications, and correspondence.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor the quality of all incoming materials, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards.
  • Oversee and record all quality assurance tests (e.g., concrete cylinder tests, aggregate tests) as per project specifications & BNBC code.
  • Maintain detailed quality control documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and material approvals.
  • Participate in project review meetings, providing insights on quality performance and potential improvements.

Job Location: Dhaka

Required Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00
  • SSC and HSC with minimum GPA 4.00 out of 5.00

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 year(s) of proven professional experience in civil engineering, specifically with a strong focus on quantity surveying and quality control in a reputable developer firm or construction company.

Additional Requirements:

  • Age maximum 35 years (flexible for highly experienced candidates).
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and project management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Sound knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
  • Capacity to follow oral and written instructions.
