CAREER OPPORTUNITY

This is not a U.S. Embassy position. The Cook will be a contract employee of the U.S. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission.

The U.S. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission in Dhaka, Bangladesh seeks to hire a Cook to work at the Official Residence in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The Cook is responsible for preparing menus and foods complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards. Prepare food for the DCM, family, and guests for breakfast, luncheons, teas, dinners and for special functions. Keep the kitchen work areas and kitchen equipment clean. Keep records of expenses, advise the DCM and house manager of needed kitchen supplies.        

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Completion of class eight. (You must attach a copy of your certificates along with your application form.)  
• At least two years of professional experience of cooking in different styles and cuisines. Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Language:  Ability to speak and understand English and Bangla fluently, and ability to read and write basic English.
