U.S. Embassy Dhaka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Protocol Assistant.

  • Assist the Protocol Supervisor as he/she supports the Ambassador and DCM.
  • Develop and maintain a large network of contacts within the Government of Bangladesh, private sector, Bangladesh social society, and other diplomatic missions in Dhaka.
  • Process all incoming invitations for vetting and prepare decision memorandums for the Executive Office concurrence.
  • Serve as main POC for all incoming and outgoing gifts to and from the Executive Office. Catalogue, disperse, and keep inventory of all gifts.
  • Draft and transmit diplomatic correspondence, prepare invitations for official functions, and develop and maintain local contacts and contact lists.
  • Provide administrative support for Protocol and the Executive Office.
  • Serve as the back-up to the Protocol Supervisor position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • University Degree in Communication or Political Science or Journalism or International Affairs or Business Administration is required. (You must attach a copy of yourcertificates along with your application form.)
  • Minimum three years progressively responsible experience in secretarial, protocol, event management, and/or public relations.
  • Language: Fluent (speaking/reading/writing) in English and Bangla is required.
