Operational Context:

UNHCR has its Representation office in Dhaka and a field office in Cox’s Bazar that directly deals with the emergency response. The operation focuses on providing international Protection for refugees response. The Operation focuses on providing international protection for refugees, supporting the state in its endeavors in favour of refugee protection, distribution of humanitarian aid and public information initiatives.
The internship will take place in the Dhaka UNHCR office.

The role of the intern within Admin/Finance team and Principle secretary are to provide support to the senior Admin/Finance and Principle Secretary in accomplishing the systematic archiving of official documents and also in developing electronic library management system. In addition the intern will assist the team in the implementation of other regular administrative task if required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In Line with the policy on the Management of UNHCR records, the intern will review the old files and prepare a list of documents to be shared with the Senior Admin/Finance and principle Secretary.
  • The intern will establish an electronic database for archiving the identified documents for preservation.
  • The intern will assist the office in establishing an electronic library management system. In doing so the intern has to do the following
  • Inventory of the existing library resources and available stock.
  • Come up with a distribution list for the educational institutions
  • Identify the disburse materials.
  • Attend regular staff meetings
  • Any other relevant task.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Professional Work Experience

University Degree in Library Management, Management or any other relevant subject.
Language: Fluency in English and Bangla
Experience: Any relevant work experience
Skills: Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS office application

Food and Transportation Allowance:

An intern will receive 10% of DSA (Daily Subsistence Allowance) for Dhaka per day up to maximum of 30 days in a month payable in local currency.
