Purpose |

1. Background:
In Bangladesh, many secondary teachers, particularly in urban slums and rural districts, face challenges in delivering quality education due to limited access to updated pedagogical resources, teaching methods, and digital tools. While the curriculum is increasingly focused on modern skills, educators often lack the necessary training to effectively engage students and incorporate interactive methods into their teaching.
According to an internal assessment (July 2024), many teachers in rural and slum areas struggle with limited teaching materials and lack of exposure to current teaching technologies. TDH Italia’s “Somotar Alo – Light of Equality” project aims to address these challenges by training teachers in effective pedagogical approaches that incorporate technology and modern teaching techniques.
2. Purpose of the consultancy:
- To equip teachers with effective pedagogical skills, strategies, and tools to enhance their teaching methods and improve learning outcomes for students.
- Conduct two pedagogical training sessions (2 batches, 2 days each, 20-30 teachers per batch).
- Enable teachers to implement modern teaching methodologies and improve classroom dynamics.
3. Job Description
- Design a context-specific, gender-sensitive pedagogical training module/guideline (in Bangla and English) that focuses on Government curriculum and interactive teaching, student-cantered learning, and technology integration for teachers.
- Develop and deliver two full-day pedagogical training sessions (2 batches, 20-30 teachers per batch) using participatory and interactive methods.
- Prepare and deliver a PowerPoint presentation on key pedagogical strategies, tools, and classroom management techniques that can be used during training sessions.
- Create pre- and post-assessment tools to evaluate knowledge gain, teaching methodology improvements, and readiness to apply learning in the classroom.
- Submit a comprehensive training report including training outcomes, participant feedback, assessment results, and recommendations for further training.
- Collaborate with TDH Italia’s project team to ensure alignment with curriculum standards and child safeguarding protocols.
4. Expected deliverables:
- Training Guideline handout (in Bangla and/or English) on effective teaching methods for secondary school teachers, incorporating interactive and student-cantered approaches.
- 2 Master Trainer Sessions delivered (2-day each for 2 batches, 30 teachers total) using participatory and practical methods. (2 batches- One in Dhaka and one in Kurigram, 2 days each,20-30 teachers per batch)-NB-Training will be arranged by TDH Italia.
- Pre- and Post-Training Assessment Tools developed and administered to measure knowledge gained and readiness to implement teaching strategies.
- Teacher Facilitation Guide to support teachers in delivering regular lessons using modern pedagogical methods.
- Follow-up Mentoring Framework for teachers to encourage peer-learning and application of new teaching practices.
- Training Report summarizing delivery outcomes, participant feedback, assessment results, and key recommendations.
- Session Materials including PowerPoint slides, visual aids, handouts, and other interactive materials (digital/printable format)

6. Timeframe:
Not definite, but the training needs to be completed by October 2025.
7. Skills, competence & experience:
The consultancy is open to individual national/international consultants or training organizations. The consultant/trainer must have the following qualifications and experience:
- A post-graduate degree in Education, Pedagogy, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in designing and delivering training programs for teachers,
- Proven ability to develop training guidelines/ presentation, including interactive learning tools, handouts, and visual aids.
- Experience in delivering participatory and interactive training sessions, especially to educators or school communities.
- Strong knowledge of modern pedagogical methods, student-centered learning, and technology integration for teaching.
- Experience with pre/post-training evaluations and preparing clear, actionable training reports.
- Familiarity with the Bangladeshi education system, including urban slum and rural school contexts.
- Strong communication skills in Bangla (required) and English (preferred).

- A video of 3 minutes in English (max size 1 GB) where the applicant introduce herself/himself and explain to the selection panel why s/he is the best candidate for this assignment
- List of 3-5 training has been conducted in last 5 years with reference of the organization contact person
- Cover letter (max. 1 page) with the following information: Indication of your expected daily fee rate in BDT including VAT and Tax; Name and contact details of three referees who may be contacted by, including a referee of an assignment of which the proposal was unsuccessful. Please also mention the company / international NGO for which you wrote the proposal/ develop strategic planning.
- A copy of TIN and VAT number;
