
Terms of Reference for a Legal Expert for Swisscontact Bangladesh

Background
Swisscontact was established in 1959 as an independent foundation by notable figures from the worlds of commerce and science in Switzerland. It is exclusively involved in international development cooperation and has carried out its own mandated projects since 1961. Based in Zurich, Swisscontact currently manages more than 100 projects in 39 countries on behalf of public and private donors. Swisscontact’s working principles include inclusive systems development, learning culture, evidence-based adaptive management, and engaging the private sector. In addition, the organisation’s sustainable criteria comprise gender equality and social inclusion, financial capability, environmental responsibility, and good governance.
Swisscontact Bangladesh is searching for a legal expert (individual) to review the contracts/agreements and other legal documents as and when required. The legal expert will also provide support in all other legal requirements of the organization.
Contract Modality
This will be a framework contract covering period until 31 December 2025 with fixed hourly rate. The hourly involvement against each assignment will be mutually agreed between Swisscontact Bangladesh and the legal expert.
Essential Eligibility Criteria
Legal approval to practice as a lawyer, TIN, and proof of submission of tax return (PSR).

- Hourly fees in BDT (including VAT). Swisscontact will deduct VAT and Income Tax at source while paying.
Selection Criteria
The selection will be made based on profile, experience, client list and fees.
