Summit Shipping Limited operates a fleet of 6 coastal oil tankers, which are used to carry and supply liquid fuel oil to the leading independent power plants of the country. The company is in the process of acquiring ocean going tankers as well as importing energy oil. We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Managing Director, experienced in managing fuel import, tank terminals and operations of an oil tanker fleet. RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting directly to the chairman and Board of Directors, the MD will be responsible for formulating policies, planning, organizing and maintaining all marine/ shipping operations. The MD will also manage the terminal operations and liaise with exporting energy oil companies to import, clear, store and deliver the oil to the customers and collect all dues in time, arrange financing et al. The MD will formulate policies in accordance with organizational objectives and make recommendations that contribute to the company’s on-going profitability and long-range growth. The MD must be familiar with local and international shipping laws including chartering REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES The candidate must have previous very senior level operations experience with a government regulatory body and also have prior work experience with a shipping or oil importing company. The post requires leadership skills and strong financial and operational understanding of the business. The Board of Directors sees the company growing in multiples and seeks a candidate who can carry this forward.
