Summit Meghnaghat Power Company Limited (SMPCL), part of Summit’s Turbine & FSRU division invites suitable candidates for the following position:
Title of the Position:
Deputy Manager – EHS (01)
Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
- Developing and updating the Summit Corporate EHS policies incorporating compliance with applicable local laws, IFC Performance Standards (PSs) and best industrial practices.
- Develop and update where required Summit Corporation’s Environmental Social Management System in line with IFC PSs for planning, construction, operation and decommissioning phases.
- Coordinate EHS programs at plant levels to obtain operational excellence within organisation.
- Provide guidelines for enhancing EHS performance across the company.
- Liaise with relevant Government agencies, external EHS auditors and associated companies to take necessary actions to close all the issues identified during audits.
- Familiarise with all the stakeholders with the EHS function through meetings, presentations and discussions.
- Ensuring organisational goals by meeting legislative and contractual obligations, codes with local and international bodies.
- Keeping abreast of any safety and environmental law or regulation changes that may impact Summit.
- Assist O&M team to maintain management system standards (ISO 14001:2015), ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018).
- Assist O&M team to implement Zero discharge plan as per Department of Environment (DoE) guideline.
- Liaise with Third Party Security Company and guide them as per site security policy.
Duty Station: Summit Meghnaghat Power Company Limited (SMPCL), Project at Meghnaghat, Narayanganj.

Eligibility Criteria:
Graduate on Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline.
Experience:
Total 10 years’ experience in power plant, oil, gas, cement and/or food & beverage industries as environmental & health safety professional.
Major Challenges
- Develop EHS culture among the plant to ensure operational excellence and also contractor safety management on safe work practice.
- Ensuring lender requirements fulfilled.
Knowledge/Skills:
Good Industrial practice, work place safety management, environmental stewardship, training management, process safety, HAZOP study, fire safety, contractor safety management, ISO standards. etc.
