Position: Manager Facilities & Operations

Role Overview: Responsibility for the development, performance and delivery all of the facilities to the school to produce smooth and efficient service and delivery solution, maximizing performance & profitability against pre-agreed targets.

The Facilities Manager is responsible for a broad range of Facilities management administrative, technical and support functions within the Property Management department and in essence entails. The Role includes overall responsibility, accountability and delivery on all departmental Facilities Management Key Performance Areas. Dealing with tenants and other stakeholders directly where necessary; analysing and determining the nature of complex emergency responses, Providing Technical Guidance on solutions to operational works and problems, overseeing FM purchasing to procure goods and services in line with the relevant delegation of authority; handling maintenance and construction projects; processing and maintaining records, managing service contracts and service level agreements, researching and compiling status reports and other reports, maintaining projects and compliance.

Purpose: To Manage, Co-ordinate and engage in the planning, management and monitoring of all aspects related to the management of the portfolio Facilities and inspection of work to ensure that quality standards are maintained or improved.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Plan, assign and manage maintenance and operations personnel assigned to school plant; assure school buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment are operational and health, safety and security policies and guidelines are met.
  • To lead and manage a team in all aspects of site facilities management.
  • To plan and oversee projects within timescales and budgets.
  • Plan co-ordinate and manage facilities resources and operations as required.
  • Manage service maintenance agreements.
  • Work with procurement to source best value and look for opportunities to implement cost savings.
  • Implement an effective planned preventive maintenance program and manage it to ensure the equipment is maintained in at an optimal operational level.
  • Assist and monitor tenant installation projects.
  • Manage and monitor all contracted services and vendor suppliers, obtains quotations and prepares work orders.
  • Manage and supervise maintenance employees to ensure maximum performance and compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Manage the expense portion of the annual budget/business plan.
  • Manage and prepare back-up information for operational reports.
  • Assist the property Managers as needed.
  • To undertake any other duties as may be required by the level of the post, and as required by the National Facilities Manager and Senior Management.
  • The post holder will ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements

Educational Experience:

  • MBA/ Masters in any discipline
  • Technical knowhow in MEP/ civil engineering is preferred

Relevant Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in operation & facility management on Senior Management level.
