Assistant – Child Protection

The Opportunity

This position is responsible for implementing community-based child protection activities as part of the Rohingya refugee response, particularly for vulnerable and at-risk children. The Assistant – Child Protection (CP) will arrange CBCPC meetings; adolescent/child/parent group meetings; ensure referrals for children; and provide direct follow-up services for vulnerable and at-risk children, in line with assessed needs. He/she will also support Child-Friedly Space (CFS), G-Friendly Space (GFS) and Multi-Purpose Child and Adolescent Centre (MPCAC) in line with internal standards and guidelines. The role includes gathering information on serious child rights violations (e.g., grave violations). The Assistant – CP will support the project team to verify documented incidents of child rights violations; document information; support the child/family to ensure protection; ensure data protection in line with internal protocols; provide daily updates to the supervisor; and prepare regular reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in social science, Development studies, Anthropology, or any other relevant subjects.
  • At least 02 years of working experience in child rights and child protection sector in Bangladesh.
  • Adequate knowledge of child rights and child protection issues in Bangladesh.
  • Ability to monitor and report on child rights violations
  • Capacity to ensure data management and data protection principles
  • Experience in arranging training/orientation on Safeguarding, Gender & Inclusion, and Climate Resilient Green Programming
  • Communication skills both in Bangla and English.
  • Hands-on computer (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) operating skills
  • Local language preferred (Chatgaya).
