The Opportunity
The Technical Specialist CP is responsible for providing high-level technical guidance and support to the Program Manager – CP and wider field teams in the implementation of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response programming within the humanitarian response. This includes conducting needs assessments, contributing to program design and adaptation, coordinating field-level activities, providing on-the-ground support, and ensuring consistent monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are in place.
The incumbent will ensure that all interventions follow GBV guiding principles — ensuring safety, confidentiality, respect, and non-discrimination — and integrate a survivor-centered approach. The role also includes technical oversight for field staff, strengthening service delivery, supporting referral pathways, documenting program learning and best practices, and advocating for improvements in GBV response systems in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders.
Additionally, the specialist will take a proactive role in capacity building and mentoring project staff, partner organizations, and community structures, contributing to sustainable and locally owned solutions to GBV in displacement-affected communities.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years of working experience in the relevant field, including 3 years in a management or supervisory position. Experience of working on Child rights-based approaches.
- Masters or a Post Graduate degree in relevant field, preferably in Social Science.
- English fluent (oral & written), Local language preferable
- Knowledge:
- CRC and other Human Rights instruments
- Understanding of rights based/child rights programming.
- Knowledge & skill to analyse Human Rights and Child Rights situation in the global, national and local level.
