The Opportunity
The Hospital Lead will provide clinical and managerial guidance to a team of 8-10 senior staff members to run a 40-bed hospital for Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals, and Host communities in Teknaf. The incumbent will ensure the quality of services following national and humanitarian standards/guidelines /protocols etc. The Hospital Lead will coordinate with different internal and external stakeholders (e.g. District and Upazilas level MOH&FW Managers/Authorities, Camp In-Charge, UN bodies, and the Health sector for day-to-day operations. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 7 years’ experience in managing health programs/projects in development or emergency context including a minimum of 2 years of experience as hospital lead or similar role.
- Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
- Excellent coordination and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work in and maintain a positive team dynamic in a challenging environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Must have an MBBS degree; preference will be given for candidates with additional qualifications such as an MPhil, or higher degree in Hospital Management
