The Opportunity

The overall purpose of this position is to ensure provision of high quality standard Minimum Essential Service Package (MESP) of the MOH&FW and Health Sector at Primary Health Care Center. S/he is responsible for delivering lifesaving medical services, often through providing emergency care before stabilization and referral to the appropriate referral facility and oversees the provision of quality health care within the Health Facilities (HF), ensuring consultations and treatments are done in line with relevant clinical protocols, guidelines and prescribed best practices. S/he treats cases of malnutrition according to universal protocols and precautions. S/he provides high quality care to patients based on history, appropriate physical examination, available laboratory tests, imaging tests, and formulary for treatment of acute and chronic conditions, including the use of appropriate checklists. S/he works on a rotation basis throughout all the clinic locations including out-of-area postings, when needed. S/he ensures that the patient consultation records, and clinic registers are completed according to Save the Children, Health Sector, and MoH requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience, as a medical officer in hospitals or healthcare centers with minimum of 1 year’ clinical experience practicing independently as a Pediatrician/Neonatologist/Gynae and Obs at hospital settings/Field hospital.
  • Sound knowledge of prevailing health and nutrition issues.
  • Working experience in 24/7 health facilities and staff, including previous experience of supervising and performance management of clinical staff
  • Working experience in emergency response
  • Medical Graduate (MBBS course) from an accredited academic institution recognized & registered by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) with a valid medical license. Postgraduate qualification or specialisation in the relevant field (Neonatology/Pediatric/Gynae and Obs.) is preferred.
