The Opportunity

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Safeguarding, the Coordinator- Safeguarding will facilitate the Safeguarding functions in Cox’s Bazar Area Office ensuring the implementation of Safeguarding policy and standards. S/he will ensure that the Safeguarding systems across the Rohingya Response are of high quality, responsive to change needs and are effective across all functions and programmatic themes/sectors. Working with the concerned managers of the Area Office, s/he will ensure risk assessment for each projects, ensure safeguarding awareness raising programs among staffs, partners, volunteers, vendors and beneficiaries and will make sure that all Safeguarding concerns and incidents are reported to the management following the set protocol. Conducting domestic investigations on safeguarding issues and preparing quality reports will be one of the key tasks of this role holder.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 04 years of experience in child/adult safeguarding in child rights practice in any reputed organization
  • Experience of working in multi sectoral humanitarian responses and a broad understanding of approaches adopted in delivering humanitarian response  
  • Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and child rights and issues
  • Experience of managing as well as undertaking complex child/adults safeguarding investigations
  • Multi-disciplinary experience of working successfully with program managers
  • Experience of planning and undertaking training programmes/workshops on safeguarding/child rights issues at a range of levels.
  • Excellent verbal communication and strong report writing skills in English
  • Masters’ Degree, preferably in English/Public Administration/Law/Journalism or in any other relevant subjects in Social Science or Business studies
