The Opportunity
 
The Technical Advisor – Private Sector Engagement will be responsible for planning, designing, organizing, directing, coordinating the activities related to private sector engagement under the guidance of the Director-Program Development and Quality (PDQ). S/he will lead the planning and execution of technical support to the sectors/programs/projects to ensure the smooth planning and implementation of programs/projects activities. The Advisor is expected to lead the private sector engagement across all the thematic sectors/programs of Save the Children Bangladesh, including new business development, corporate funding and collaboration with private sectors aiming to impact in the lives of children, youth, and their families. It aims to establish strategic partnership with private sectors to ensure the strong visible presence of SCiB with efficient and effective broader networking and advocacy efforts in promoting green jobs and entrepreneurship. 

S/he will lead the review process of existing private sector strategies and work closely with national stakeholders to develop and implement new strategies and pilot innovative private-sector activities. S/he will work with children, youth, youth groups and structures, local government, private sector, and other partners for the delivery of the project activities. S/he will also lead the market assessment framework strategy and implementation, provide technical assistance, advice, and capacity support to the partners (NGOs) through developing engagement strategies of public-private partnerships for creating opportunities for targeted program participants.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 8 years’ experience in the development sector with experience in managerial positions and minimum of 5 years working experience in Private Sector Engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience on the Market System Development will add value.
  • Extensive experience working in and with the private sector, market systems approach, inclusive business/market models, and public-private partnerships.
  • Knowledge of technical skills development, labor law, related national policies and institutions especially related to private sector engagement and market development strategies. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen, and respect for colleagues and outside contacts.
  • Excellent networking skills with relevant stakeholders
  • Ability and willingness to work under immense pressure situation
  • Master’s degree, preferably in Social Science, particularly  in Development Studies/Business Administration/ or any related field.
