The Opportunity:

The Senior Manager – ECW will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the ECW Project within a Refugee Context. Reporting to the Education Sector Director and collaborating closely with the Education Advisor, this position is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the ECW Project while maintaining alignment with consortium goals and objectives. The Senior Manager will lead ECW-funded Multi-Year Resilience Program (MYRP) project activities in Cox’s Bazar refugee camps and host community, with a focus on (1) excellent program implementation, including timely activity implementation according to plan and routine monitoring against agreed indicators, (2) frequent field monitoring according to the plan  (3) technical lead in the delivery of training & capacity building activities, developing remedial learning packages, Interactive Radio Instructions (IRI) and E-learning courses etc. S/he will actively monitor Education activities with selected education sector implementation partners, ensuring projects technical interventions/activities are delivered on time and on budget, and that delays or issues with implementation are solved immediately, and corrective actions are taken.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 7 years of relevant working experience in a development or humanitarian setting, preferably in an Education and Education in Emergency (EiE) program.
  • Possess advanced knowledge and expertise in pedagogy, teaching and learning methodologies, and educational material development, ensuring the highest standard of educational practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating educational processes and developing modules for both formal and non-formal education programs, fostering effective learning experiences.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the Myanmar Curriculum (MC) and Accelerated Learning Program (ALP), encompassing content and competencies, particularly at the primary level, to drive educational excellence.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in government pre-primary curriculum and educational policies relevant to primary education, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Exhibit deep knowledge of the Rohingya response situation within the country, specializing in education in emergency contexts. Stay informed about technology-based education theories and practices to adapt to evolving educational landscapes.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to facilitate processes and coordinate with a high standard of efficiency, ensuring seamless collaboration among team members and external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit exceptional team management skills, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Proficiently lead, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Possess advanced proficiency in both Bangla and English, encompassing both oral and written communication. Effectively convey complex ideas and information in a clear and articulate manner.
  • Have a foundational understanding of Burmese, including alphabets and numerals, to facilitate basic communication and interactions in diverse settings.
  • Display advanced proficiency in various information and communication technologies (ICT), including email communication, Microsoft Office suite, and PDF applications, ensuring efficient digital operations.
  • Showcase strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make well-informed decisions, particularly in high-pressure situations that require effective and timely resolutions.
  • Communicate with impact, delivering messages and ideas that resonate with stakeholders, inspire action, and drive positive outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain valuable relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, leveraging a robust network to support project initiatives and objectives effectively.
  • Certificate or diploma in EiE, Education, or relevant will be given preference.
  • Master’s Degree, preferably in Education/Social Science/Development Studies and other relevant faculties.
