The Opportunity

The Manager- Anticipatory Action, will be responsible for managing and supervising GFFO funded Anticipatory Action (AA) project under the supervision of Sr. Manager- Humanitarian Sector. S/he will contribute in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the project activities, supervise the partner organizations at field level, and manage the project team to achieve the goal and targets. S/he needs to work with children, communities, INGOs and government stakeholders and makes planning for proper coordination and networking with concerned Anticipatory Action, DRR and emergency response stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for the overall reporting and documentation as well as maintain the project compliance along with the process and best practices. S/he will be responsible to track the budget of the project and guide implementing partner NGOs to track the financial records.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of Humanitarian, Anticipatory Action, DRR/CCA project activities.
  • Knowledge of industry ‘best practices’ in emergency response, disaster risk reduction and resilience projects
  • Knowledge on CHS, Humanitarian Code of Conduct, Cash and Voucher Assistance programming.  
  • Master’s degree, preferably in Disaster/Crisis Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Social Science, Economics or relevant discipline.
  • Ability to work in high stress situations such as emergency response.
  • Strategic Sourcing Strategy
  • Excellent skills on process facilitation and coordination with high standard

DESIRABLE:

  • 5 years of experience in handling project management or equivalent to a mid-level position in INGOs or UN agencies.
  • Professional certification in Humanitarian, Anticipatory, DRR activities.
