The Opportunity
The Senior Awards Officer in his/her capacity supports the Awards Manager in the areas of Awards management, and cost proposal development of the Country Office. The position ensures quality services to clients in line with SCI Policies and Procedures. The incumbent will be responsible for the Cost-ed Work plan of the assigned portfolio, agreement Synopsys and compliance, BVA Analysis/comments, input/maintain Award Management Systems (AMS), record keeping, and update of all Award-related documentation, and assist in the training, coaching, and development of financial skills in the non-accounting staff, particularly budget holders. H/she will build and maintain effective relationships, with the team, colleagues, Members, and external partners, and for values & diversity, need to oversee as a source of competitive strength.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 4 years’ experience within the finance department of a national or international organization including experience with financial management in emergencies
- Excellent analytical skills – the ability to analyze complex financial data and design and produce effective management information
- Strong budgeting and budget management skills
- Proficiency in computerized accounts packages, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to contribute to a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues, and providing support and advice as necessary
- Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
- Written and verbal fluency in English
- Master’s degree, preferably in Finance/ Business Administration or a relevant discipline
