Technical Specialist – Risk & Compliance

The Opportunity

The Technical Specialist – Risk and Compliance has a vital assurance role which must identify and check current internal control & compliance practices within the SCiBD AO.  The job holder must ensure that, the activities of SCiBD AO and partners follow laws policies and procedures given by SC BdCO Management and SC Global and Donors’ laws and regulations and directives time to times.

The role of the Technical Specialist – Risk and compliance is to serve as a vigilant guardian of regulatory adherence and risk mitigation within the organization. This pivotal role involves meticulous oversight of compliance with local regulatory laws and financial protocols, while also playing a strategic part in long-term planning and organizational control. The Technical Specialist actively collaborates with management to set audit strategies, proactively resolves compliance lapses, and fosters a culture of compliance. Additionally, this role requires adaptability and a commitment to disaster and emergency response efforts, ensuring the organization's resilience and integrity in all circumstances.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the humanitarian or development sector, working experience in emergency response experience will be given priorities
  • Advanced knowledge of Accounting components and their inter-linkages, thorough knowledge of accounting practices in development organization and performance management, basic understanding of Bangladesh NGO job market and sound knowledge of statutory regulation, system design with development and sound knowledge of financial transactions analysis
  • Excellent attention to detail and Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people.
  • Proven experience in computer operation in MS Office especially PowerPoint presentation preparation skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills in English, with experience interacting with multicultural teams.
  • Post-graduation, preferably in Accounting / MBA, major in Accounting, Management, or relevant discipline. Professional Certification Course is desirable.
