Senior Manager – Research, Learning and Knowledge

The Opportunity

Mandated by the Program Development and Quality (PDQ) department charter, the Senior Manager-Research, Evidence and Learning (RLK) will drive the organization’s ambition. S/he will strengthen the research capability of Save the Children (SC) staff and partners, steer evidence generation and uptake, strengthen knowledge management (KM) system, foster strategic partnerships with other organizations/institutions to advance knowledge base on child rights, and promote a culture of innovation and learning across the organization.

As a senior member of the PDQ/ Evidence & Learning team, the Senior Manager-RLK is expected to set quality standards, operationalize the quality oversight mechanisms, build systems and processes and represent Save the Children International Bangladesh (SCIBD) in external knowledge platforms under the strategic guidance of Technical Director- Evidence and Learning . S/he is also expected to embed RLK in project designs while also exploring alternative funding avenues for proposals focused on research or evidence and knowledge building.

Qualifications and experience

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in development sector with 6 years of demonstrated experience in research, evidence, evaluation, learning and KM related work.
  • Proven experience of independently leading major research initiatives, developing research reports/products, and strengthening research and evaluation capability at both organizational and individual staff level
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative research using various methods/tools/techniques, and ability to train, coach and capacitate others.
  • Demonstrated capacity to analyse data/evidence to inform programming, advocacy and broader strategy, experience in data management solutions, and familiarity with technologies in social research.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in designing lesson learned products by extracting the information from the different learning activities for example: study, evaluation, workshop, and so on.
  • High proficiency (oral and written) in both Bangla and English and excellent presentation skills
  • Master’s in social sciences/relevant disciplines with academic research from the reputed university
