Assistant - Immunization

The Opportunity

The Assistant - Immunization role holder will implement and take charge of immunization activities in the PHCC & HP and outreach and will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality EPI services to the local catchment populations. Along with the PHCC and HP team, the incumbent will contribute to improving the SCI's existing health programs in the camps.

S/he will also provide vaccines to patients and clients as scheduled, conduct vaccination campaigns, and manage EPI equipment. The role holder will also develop a monthly work plan, conduct training to build the capacity of staff/ volunteers, prepare field visit plans, and conduct evaluation and appraisal of staff as required. Based on the assessment and appropriate response, s/he will undertake local-level advocacy targeting other humanitarian actors, local authorities, and ministries as appropriate, to support EPI vaccination.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least one year of working experience in a similar role
  • Proven capacity to train and coach staff
  • Demonstrable ability at report writing and excellent communication skills
  • Workable knowledge of computer operation
  • Minimum Diploma in Medical, Diploma in Medical in Clinical Medicine
  • Preferred Professional Certification: Registered with BMDC
