Advisor–Policy Advocacy (Right2Grow)

The Opportunity
Right2Grow (R2G) is one of the advocacy-focused projects of Save the Children which is working to enable every child to reach their full potential as well as its long-term impact that all children under 5 will be well nourished by engaging the private sector and putting child growth and mothers' health as the top priority. The strategic goal is to increase care and investment in nutrition, WASH and health for safeguarding every Bangladeshi child.
The position will work as the focal point for developing Right2Grow’s advocacy strategy by the programme priorities and initiating and managing relevant activities through maintaining functional linkages with relevant government departments, implementing partners, and other stakeholders. This position will play a major role in identifying key advocacy issues and developing a strategic approach to address them. S/he will coordinate with national institutions like MoLGRDC, MoH&FW, BNNC, IPHN, NNS, Private sectors, etc to achieve the advocacy goal of Right2Grow. The responsibilities also include the development, publication, and dissemination of policy briefs, fact sheets, annual reports, newsletters, and day observance reports; publishing research reports and other materials as per the programme need.
Qualifications and experience
- 8 years’ of multi-sectoral working experience in line with Food & Nutrition, WASH, and Gender Inclusion. The ideal candidate should have 5 years’ of policy advocacy working experience with relevant ministries of GoB.
- Knowledge and working experiences with GoB and the Private sector of Bangladesh are expected.
- Working experience with the consortium will add value to the recruitment process.
- The incumbent must have a decent understanding of the recent GoB five-year plan, union parishad budget, HPNSDP, NPAN2, CIP-02, NSS, private sector engagement and national strategies.
- Good understanding of child rights, governance, and advocacy
- Computer skills are required with excellent verbal, oral, and written communications skills in Bangla and English to translate complex things in a user-friendly and simple manner.
- Experience working closely with government, UN agencies, technical agencies, and NGO officials will be considered as added value.
- Excellent experience in rapport building, networking, and relationship building.
- Study experience on nutrition and WASH may add value for the selection process.
- Master’s Degree, preferably in Social Science/English/Public Health/Development Studies, or a related field.
