Director – Finance and Administration (ARaC)

Save the Children is seeking a Director-Finance and Administration for an anticipated five-year USAID-funded Accelerating Reductions in Adolescent Childbearing (ARaC) program in Bangladesh. The program will focus on increasing the ability of adolescents to exercise their right to delay early marriage and childbearing; strengthen social support for adolescents to delay marriage and early childbearing; strengthen essential services for adolescents and their families; and institutionalize effective solutions.

This position is contingent upon donor approval and funding.

The Opportunity

The Director-F&A oversees all financial management, internal controls, and financial compliance aspects of the program in accordance with USAID guidance and regulations. This individual will provide financial and operational management to ensure the best use of resources by preparing sound budget, monitoring project expenses, and providing accurate and timely financial reports for donors. S/he oversees sub-grant monitoring and compliance including organizational assessments, review of financial reports/advance requests, and financial tracking; develop sub-grant monitoring plans; and perform and document compliance visits.

Qualifications and experience

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in financial, human resources, operations and administrative management of large international development projects; including at least seven years’ experience with supervisory/management responsibility for the above areas.
  • Experience managing large and diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to prepare budgets and donor financial reports.
  • Strong analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations.
  • Experience as a coach/mentor to train staff and develop financial skills of colleagues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience living and working in Bangladesh. Familiarity with programs focused on child, early, and forced marriage; adolescent sexual and reproductive health; and/or social and behavior change.
  • Strong analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations.
  • Experience as a coach/mentor to train staff and develop financial skills of colleagues.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Bangla.
  • A Master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, administration or related field.
