Technical Specialist – Awards

The Opportunity

The TS-Awards in his/her capacity supports the Awards Manager in the areas of Awards management, and cost proposal development of the Country Office. The position ensures quality services to clients in line with SCI Policies and Procedures. The incumbent will faster the Grant Cycle Management and Award Management Systems along with will work on Gift in Kind (GIK) process mechanism. H/she will build and maintain effective relationships, with the team, colleagues, Members, and external partners, and for values & diversity, need to oversee as a source of competitive strength. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 5 years experience within the finance department of a national or international organization. Experience in budgeting and budget management and proven track record in producing quality reports
  • Excellent understanding of financial systems and procedures
  • Excellent analytical skills –ability to analyze complex financial data and design and produce effective management information
  • Ability to contribute to a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues, and providing support and advice as necessary
  • Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
  • Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work under tight deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience with computerized accounts packages and Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English, with experience in managing multicultural teams
  • Excellent communication skills in cross-cultural contexts, awareness, and sensitivity to gender and diversity
  • Master’s Degree, preferably in Finance/ Business Administration or a relevant discipline.
