Technical Specialist - MEAL & MIS

The Opportunity 

The Technical Specialist MEAL & MIS is mainly responsible to provide adequate support to the Manager - MEAL in the areas of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning and knowledge management, research, and reporting to ensure efficient and effective MEAL system is being implemented in the projects and program under the project complying with SCI standards and procedures. The incumbent will be responsible to implement the MEAL and MIS systems at the project level to track project progress and implement quality benchmarks, and accountability systems, and facilitate learning and knowledge management mechanisms at the project level. S/he will be responsible to develop and pilot data collection tools, orienting data collectors, and supervising data collection in different research and eluviation studies. S/he will also be responsible to ensure the quality of data, data management, updating the MEAL database, and analyzing MEAL data at key intervals. S/he will conduct training/workshops to build the capacity of the partners/program staff on MEAL and provide them with ongoing MEAL technical support. S/he will provide support to the sector in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the CO, donor, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of M&E/ MEAL/MIS and research
  • Solid understanding of quantitative and qualitative monitoring and evaluation methodologies
  • Should be proficient in computer operation, particularly, in KoBo Tools, R/SPSS, MS-Excel, and MS-PowerPoint and data virtual platform in power-bi
  • Excellent analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Experience in working on Technology based MEAL systems/processes
  • Good data management and analytical skills, ability to interpret data, and proficiency in SPSS, MS-Excel, MS-Access, and MS-PowerPoint
  • Team player and project management as well as supervisory skills
  • Excellent English-language written and oral communications skills
  • Master’s Degree, preferably in Statistics/Social Science or other relevant disciplines
