Coordinator - Safeguarding (Dhaka)

The Opportunity
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Safeguarding, the role holder will be primarily responsible for facilitating staff safeguarding activities and arrangements within the Save the Children (SCI) Bangladesh Country Office and its partners, ensuring that these are in line with SCI policies and CO operational plan. S/he will provide quality support in safeguarding awareness building, case management, investigation, risk assessment, including managing an updated database. S/he will take lead on socializing the SCI Anti-Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying policy and other safeguarding policies among staff, partner organizations and other SCI representatives. Conducting domestic investigations on safeguarding issues and preparing quality reports will be one of the key tasks of this role holder. S/he will follow up with partners and individual SCI project managers to ensure that the Core Operational Safeguarding Activities (COSA) are in place across the SCI supported programs and activities.
Qualifications and experience
- At least 4 years’ experience in Safeguarding/HR/relevant area
- Experience of managing as well as undertaking safeguarding/child protection investigations and/or HR disciplinary investigations
- Experience of planning and facilitating training sessions at a range of levels
- Excellent verbal communication and report writing skills in English
- Good computer skill specially in MS office package
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under immense pressure /readiness to work beyond regular working hours
- Self-sufficient, proactive and self-motivating.
- Ability to prioritize and deal with competing demands to deliver results.
- Master’s Degree, preferably in English/ Law/ Public Administration/ Sociology/ Business Studies or in any other relevant subject from a reputed university.
