Assistant - MEAL

The opportunity

The Assistant - MEAL is the frontline staff of the MEAL team in the WFP funded Safety Net System for the poorest (SNSP) project. The position is mainly responsible for the process monitoring through conducting quality benchmark visit including conducting post distribution monitoring, doing evaluation including needs assessment and relevant study, assisting accountability team through awareness raising, collecting accountability data from real settings and also involve to implement other approaches (i.e child-friendly), supporting Officer-MEAL and sector-level MEAL Managers for effective information management, monitoring and evaluation. S/he needs to conduct and participate in community meetings to close the accountability feedback loop. S/he needs to prepare short narrative/formative reports and share with program team.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 02 years’ working experience in database and/or information management and/or MEAL function in humanitarian response program
  • Ability to collect quantitative and qualitative data, undertake data entry and basic processing/analysis of data
  • Sound knowledge on database management, KOBO and MS Office Packages
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in Bengali and Chittagonian dialect, with basic communication skills in English
  • Enthusiasm, motivation, self-confidence, and a proactive approach in problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation skills and can work as part of a team
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Statistics/Anthropology or any relevant subject.
