Officer – Case Work

The Opportunity
This position is primarily responsible for implementation of child protection case management activities as part of the Rohingya refugee response, in particular for unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) and other vulnerable and at-risk children. The Social Case Worker is responsible for ensuring the identification, registration, assessment, referral, direct service provision of follow up for vulnerable and at-risk children, in line with their needs. He/she is responsible for providing alternative care support in line with internal standards and guidelines. The Officer-Social Case Work is responsible for documenting information, implementing case management tools and forms, supporting the child/family through the case management process, ensuring data protection in line with internal protocols, and for providing daily updates to the supervisor and preparing regular reports.
Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated experience and/or proven capacity to work with vulnerable children and families in humanitarian response context
- Strong understanding of child protection and community-based approaches, knowledge on child rights and child protection issues in Bangladesh
- Ability to work in a team, capable to work under pressure and be able to work in a sensitive manner.
- Working with trustworthiness and integrity and has a clear commitment to Save the Children’s core values and humanitarian principles.
- Excellent communication skills in cross-cultural contexts, awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Anthropology, Development Studies and any other relevant disciplines
