Officer – Safeguarding

The Opportunity

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Safeguarding, the role holder will be responsible for facilitating Safeguarding activities and arrangements within the Field Office and its partners, ensuring that these are in line with SCI policies and country office operational plan. Working with the concerned managers of the field offices, s/he will run Safeguarding awareness raising programs among staff, partners, volunteers, beneficiaries and will make sure that all Safeguarding concerns and incidents are reported to the management following the set protocol. Conducting investigation and preparing reports will be one of the key tasks of this role holder. S/he will monitor the Safeguarding risk mitigation process of individual projects, participate in domestic investigations, and will deliver quality reports.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in relevant areas, preferably with INGOs
  • Experience of managing as well as undertaking safeguarding/GBV investigations and/or HR disciplinary investigations.
  • Excellent verbal communication and high-quality report writing skills in English
  • Good computer skill specially in MS office package
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under immense pressure situation
  • Self-sufficient, proactive, self-motivating and has willingness to work outside Dhaka.
  • Ability to prioritize and deal with competing demands to deliver results
  • Bachelor Degree, preferably in English/Public Administration/Business Studies or in any other relevant subject from a reputed university
