Technical Manager – Nutrition, Suchana

The Opportunity

The overall responsibility of this position is to guide and coordinate with the field team on high-quality planning, managing and scaling-up the nutrition and MNCH components of the Suchana programme. S/he will work closely with other sector specialist and Senior Technical Advisor-Nutrition  to ensure i) Nutrition and MNCH are integrated with the other programme sectors to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of the programme, ii) quality of nutrition related interventions and SBCC maintains high (national and international) standards, iii) all relevant coalition members and front line workers have adequate, knowledge, skills and capacity to deliver best quality interventions, iv) Interventions are delivered with and  through govt system, best practices are documented and disseminated across internal and external key stakeholders. The Technical Manager will build strategic relationships to ensure coordination with other key nutrition stakeholders including UN agencies and the Government of Bangladesh at district and downwards level as appropriate. S/he will facilitate training and capacity building of nutrition and MNCH staff to ensure they have the capabilities and resources to deliver programme activities. Together with other members of the District Management Committee, s/he will identify areas of revision/re-calibration as per need and take action steps accordingly. 

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 6 years’ experience in the field of child and maternal health and nutrition related program implementation including social behaviour change communication.
  • Working experiences with NNS service delivery in the ground is highly desirable. Experience in conducting operation research related to health & nutrition independently would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of national health & nutrition stakeholder community, including government health policies, priorities and processes, institutions and networks.
  • Ability to leading Nutrition/MCHN program in terms of implementation, monitoring and evaluation of community based health and nutrition programs
  • Experience on training curriculum development related to  health & nutrition, training facilitating , and advocating for effective interventions/strategies at the community level.
  • Coordination skills with MOH&FW, NGOs, UN Agencies, and academic institutions involved in maternal child health and nutrition programs. 
  • Master’s Degree, preferably in nutrition or relevant discipline, degree in Public Health with a focus on Nutrition will be an advantage.
