Manager – District Implementation, MaMoni MNCSP

The Opportunity

This position will be responsible for overall progress of district implementation of the program. S/he will develop and maintain a healthy collaborative relationship with the MOH&FW counterparts at the district and below. S/he will facilitate MOH&FW led, data-driven planning and reviews, mobilize local government bodies and other non-health sectors to support the public and private sector MNH interventions. S/he will also ensure progress of MNH-QI activities through regular program, develop capacity plan and support QI committees, analyze monthly performance and review of MIS data to provide timely feedback to the Government as well as to the partner. The Manager will liaison with district level MOH&FW and Local Government officials, monitor partner NGO’s performance and provide necessary support, review regular implementation plan and budget burn trend analysis. The position will also support MOH&FW to reach out local NGOs, private clinics, elected representatives, media and other stakeholders and mobilize their support in achieving MaMoni MNCSP results. The position will maintain strong liaison with the M&E Manager, PNGO staff, regional staff members, national level thematic teams and ensure smooth implementation of project activities.

This position will be based in Cox’s Bazar and require frequent travel to remote areas in order to coach and monitor district/upazila level people and activities. Your office will be located within a government premises i.e. CS/DDFP office, District hospital, Zila Parishad etc. 

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 6 years’ experience with 3 years in program management, preferably field implementation of maternal and newborn health programs (in case of medical doctors, required education and experience may be relaxed).
  • Experience of working in a clinical setting
  • Demonstrated experience of working closely with the government agencies, especially with MOH&FW and experience of working with a large complex multi-partner team.
  • Understanding of NGO and public sector and national health system issues is necessary
  • Effective communication skill both in English and Bangla (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to travel (at least 80% of time) in field areas
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, using of internet
  • Master Degree, preferably in Public Health/Health Management or other relevant discipline.
