Program Manager - Child Protection

The Role
This position has the overall responsibility of managing child protection programs, including several projects, in multiple field locations. S/he is accountable to provide technical expertise/guidance for project implementation, monitoring, capacity building of different stakeholders of the projects. S/he is responsible for providing support for assessment, response analysis, design, coordination, implementation and monitoring, and evaluation of the child protection components for the program. S/he will oversee the work of Project Managers in the field offices to prevent and respond to abuse, exploitation, violence, and neglect against children in emergencies. S/he will also maintain coordination, networking, and linkage with other service providers and establish a well-functioning referral system and provide necessary training to child protection staff in addressing the protection needs of vulnerable children and families, provide quality and timely reports for the program and donors.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 6 years working experience in the relevant field including 3 years in management or supervisory position. Experience of working in child rights-based approaches.
  • Sound knowledge & skills to analyze Human Rights and Child Rights situation at the global, national, and local levels
  • Excellent understanding of rights-based/child rights programming, CRC and other Human Rights instruments, and Project Cycle Management
  • Excellent communication skills both in English and Bangla
  • Demonstrated Skill in budget preparation and management
  • Excellent program development and proposal writing skill
  • Demonstrable ability to prepare high compliance donor reports, and other documents
  • Experience in managing a high-performance team
  • Master’s Degree, preferably in Social Science or relevant discipline.
