Officer - Logistics, COVID-19 Response

Save The Children Bangladesh has established a Severe Acute Respiratory Infection Isolation and Treatment Centre (SARI ITC) in Teknaf Upazila of Cox's Bazar District. This centre provides services for Forcefully Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) and Host Communities. Save the Children ensures appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for everyone associated with treatment, care or services in SATI ITC.

The Role
This Officer- Logistics is responsible for ensuring efficient, timely delivery of goods/services to program and operation teams. S/he generates a stock movement plan to ensure safe movement of stocks and follows SCI endorsed procedures and guidelines of stock deliveries to the hospital stores. S/he also ensures that generator is fully functional round the clock and keeps all logistical transactions (e.g. purchase requests, waybills, stock control, asset tracking, etc.) are recorded in an orderly manner.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in supply chain function, particularly in logistics management
  • Knowledge of health program operations in humanitarian response context
  • Demonstrated experience of logistics management in health care or hospital setting
  • Very good communication, coordination and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization
  • Willingness and ability to work in a high-risk work environment in this COVID-19 pandemic context
  • Ability to work with and maintain a positive team dynamic in a challenging environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office, experience on any MIS software will be a plus
  • Bachelor Degree, preferably in Business Studies
