Introduction:

Undernutrition is one of the most critical and least addressed problems in Bangladesh. “SUCHANA: Ending the cycle of undernutrition in Bangladesh” is a multi-sectoral nutrition programme aims to achieve significant reduction in stunting amongst children under two years of age in Sylhet and Moulavibazar Districts by catalyzing support across Bangladesh Government and other stakeholders in country. The programme adopts an integrated approach to nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive intervention to prevent chronic malnutrition within the critical 1,000 days from conception until a child reaches its second birthday.

Scope of Work:

To bring significant changes among the life of adolescent girl through the scope of social behavior change communication (SBCC) strategy and promote the inherited potentials of them utilizing the life skills expertize what they achieved from programme. Suchana intends to portray computer-based twenty-five (25) artworks for the flip chart that will be used in the life skill session as part of SBCC material development. These artworks will be based on thematic impression of individual session of life skill module that corresponds to reduction of early marriage, perspective of adapting with the social and gender norms, increase ability to improve livelihood options etc. Suchana programme has been aiming that these artworks will visualize the whole thematic representation of life skill learnings while theoretical discussion will be in place. Thus programme intends to hire a consultant who will produce the artworks Suchana adolescent intervention. Caption messages for flip chart will develop based on the main discussion points of each session in the life skills module.

Objectives:

  • To develop artworks on adolescent intervention
  • To increase knowledge among adolescent girls, parents, community people and extended population at bigger context
  • To aware and advocate GOB stakes and policy maker on adolescent component issues
  • To highlight Suchana programme through those artworks as a ready and learning reference

Roles and Responsibilities of the Consultant:

  • Develop a plan and share an outline with Suchana team
  • Consultant will review documents and other communication materials Consultant will have a meeting with Manager-Adolescent, SCI
  • Conduct field visit and meeting with adolescent girls
  • Conduct artworks, suit them with the messages and editing them as it needed
  • Design the cover and lay-out design where applicable
  • Share draft copies of artworks and incorporate feedback from Suchana Programme Submission of final artworks

Expected Deliverables

The Consultant will produce the following deliverables:

  • The approved final plan (Outline and Plan)
  • Final finished products of Twenty-five (25) nos. artworks with cover design The draft copy submission will be desired
  • Final report of the assignment

Timeframe: The consultant will complete the entire task as per below table below by 20 days from signing the agreement.

Requirements:

  • Computer-based twenty-five illustrations or artworks will be needed to portray.
  • Create the exact illustration and prepare required cover-page for the flip chart that corresponds the content and idea given by the programme.
    Illustration will be adequately understandable to the primary audience. Expecting that secondary and tertiary stakeholders will be able to understand those illustrations as well.
  • Draft illustration is expecting to be shared one after another rather not all together at a time.
  • Consultant will be expecting to stay in Sylhet Field Office for last 6 days starting with field testing till submission of the final report.
  • Submit the high regulation JPEG and PSD files of artworks. Deliverable will be ready to submit within stipulated time.

Condition:

  • The Consultant or Illustrator will not use the artworks in any platform outside of Suchana Programme and/or Save the Children.
  • Consultant will abide by the SCI’s Safeguarding Policy.
