The role

This position is designed to perform the logistics management related tasks at the BSFP site of Camp areas. The position holder will be responsible to receive goods and dispatching goods from warehouse for distribution to BSFP and TSFP beneficiaries. S/he will ensure that the goods are dispatched to the right place in right time as per dispatch plans/requisition. S/he will also ensure that the goods are stacked in warehouse as per Commodity Management and Accounting Guidelines. The Assistant Logistics Officer will keep the Site Supervisor/distribution officer at camp level informed in all aspect of commodity stock in the warehouse.  S/he will prepare and sign off when required the daily commodity transaction reports in the prescribed formats. S/he will also ensure that other requested reports are submitted to the Distribution Officer. ALO will assist to designate officials/teams for conducting routine physical inventory of commodity. S/he will also do the record keeping of the inventory reports ad per Guidelines.

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline and at least 1 years of working experience on warehousing;
  • Good knowledge on warehouse procedures including stacking, receiving, dispatching and record keeping and labor handling;
  • Knowledge on transportation and supply chain management will be added an advantage;
  • Good computer skills on in MS Word, Excel;
  • Ability to woirk in a team;
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and Bengali.

Contract length: Up to December 31, 2019 with possibility of extension depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
