The role

This position is responsible for supporting Dy. Manager – Procurement & Manager Procurement by directly carrying out various procurement activities based in Cox’s Bazar / Ukhiya / Teknaf. The role encompasses procurement support to general procurement, program procurement as well as emergency preparedness and humanitarian relief procurements. S/he will prepare purchase requisitions, get price quotes based on specifications, purchase goods, assist in customs clearing; take inventory, register goods in and out, and prepare input for reports. S/he is also responsible for learning and applying Bangladesh CO policies and procedures regarding procurement and supply chain emergency thresholds.

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in relevant field;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Procurement management, preferably in development organization;
  • Experience in Procurement support in emergency response is preferred;
  • Experience working with local commodities transporters;
  • Knowledge of international standards related to Procurement and compliance of the policy;
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written) in English;
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet applications;
  • Ability to work in high stress situations and emergency response;
  • Good knowledge on country customs clearance with policies sea & air ports;

Contract length: 06 months with possibility of extension depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
