Senior Officer - Administration, Suchana

Save the Children invites applications for the above mentioned position for a comprehensive and multi-sectoral programme to prevent chronic malnutrition in under-2 children in Bangladesh. The aim is to break the inter-generational transfer of malnutrition through economic and cultural determinants in two districts of Sylhet division. Recognising the importance of supporting nutrition well before a child is born, and before girls become mothers, the programme will adopt a lifecycle approach, with a focus on adolescents and newly-weds. It is driven by a catalytic coalition, comprising Save the Children (lead), IDE, HKI, WorldFish and icddr,b, who prioritise sustainability and scalability.

The role
This position is responsible for overseeing, supervising and ensuring all administrative and logistic supports for smooth implementation of the programme. Responsibility includes, providing and monitoring the administrative supports in organizing workshops/ meetings/training at internal or external venues, provide assistance to visitors, and keep update the contracts/ agreements, maintain the record of vehicles, uses and ensure timely servicing. S/he will also ensure the maintenance of office, assets and other activities related to this, facilitate the field office procurements directly or through Dhaka Office, maintain the record of vehicles, vehicle documents and keep update the lease agreements/ contracts/ agreements etc.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 4 years working experience in administrative related functions, preferably in NGO with experience in supervisory role.
  • S/he is expected to have advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in administrative components and its interlinkages
  • Thorough knowledge on administrative practices in any development organization
  • Excellent communication skills both in oral and writing
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multi tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Bangla typing skill in Bijoy will be an advantage
  • Master’s Degree, preferably in Management/ Business Studies/ Social Sciences or relevant discipline.
